Pop Up a Mouthful of Fun

There’s nothing like cozying up in a bundle of blankets for a lazy movie-watching evening with your favorite popcorn in hand. October is National Popcorn Popping Month, so it’s the perfect time to indulge. When it comes to sharing my popcorn…well…I usually recommend that you bring your own batch. I’m a bit of a popcorn fanatic. In fact, as a kid, I defied my orthodontist’s wishes when they instructed that I couldn't eat popcorn with my braces. I know….I know…such a rebel. I don’t know what the norm is when it comes to popcorn making, but my sisters and I have a long-standing combo that we often create. After a few mishaps, we now avoid making the stove top kind (flying kernels, burnt popcorn, a ringing smoke detector, etc.) and opt for the microwavable choice. Once it’s freshly popped, we pile on loads of butter, sprinkle in Parmesan cheese, mix some peanut butter M&M’s, and add Ruffles potato chips. It’s like emptying your junk food pantry into a bowl…sort of like having the world in your hands. Butter, super salty, caramel…what’s your go-to flavor? Santa’s Candy Castle offers quite the assortment of gourmet popcorn which is sure to delight your taste buds. Find something sweet, sour, or even spicy!  Try a half-pound bag of Hot Chocolate (a perfect fireside treat), Green Apple, or the appropriately named Fire variety.
