More Water Park Fun
Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari is open weekends—plus Labor Day—through October 30 (the water park closes for the season on September 18). That means there’s still time to soar to new heights on the Thunderbird and race your friends on Cheetah Chase. And be sure to check out extra events happening during Kids World!
More Outdoor Adventure
There’s a reason we think this area has the “greatest” outdoors. You can find tons of outdoor fun to have before summer turns over to fall!
At Lincoln State Park, the beach is open through Labor Day. And after that, you can still sleep under the stars at the campground, find your footing on the hiking trails, and learn about Lincoln as you stroll the Lincoln Bicentennial Plaza.
If you prefer to enjoy the scenic outdoors by horseback, you’ll want to reserve a ride at Santa’s Stables. Skilled horseback guides will lead adults and bigger kids along some of the area’s most beautiful trails. And little kids can enjoy an easy-going ride on Foxy the Pony!
Step outside and step back in time when you tour the replica cabins spread across the grounds of
Lincoln Pioneer Village & Museum. The 13 replica cabins offer a glimpse, inside and out, of what a young Abe's Indiana life might have looked like.
Calling all golfers! You’ll find not one, but two great courses in the area. Christmas Lake Golf Club offers 18 holes set amongst rolling hills, valleys, and sparkling lakes. Not up for 18 holes? The Rustic Golf Course is a nine-hole course that lets you play in beautiful wooded surroundings near the Ohio River.
More Entertainment Under the Stars
If entertainment and relaxation are more your style, you’ll find great places to get your fix. The Holiday Drive-In Movie Theater is serving up double features on the weekends. Bring your folding chairs and set up seating right outside your vehicle to enjoy favorite flicks in the summer night air.
The summer air is also filled with the sound of music. Monkey Hollow Winery and Distillery is pairing local spirits with live performances every weekend through October. And Lincoln Amphitheatre is bringing live acts to the stage through October 9, including Kentucky Shine and Rumours: A Tribute to Fleetwood Mac.
