Opening-Day_at_the_Lincoln_Pioneer_VillageSick and tired of being stuck indoors due to all this rain and nasty weather? Well, this weekend visit the Lincoln Pioneer Village & Museum on Sunday, May 1st, in Rockport, Indiana, for the opening day of their season! Take a relaxing look back into history with 14 Lincoln-era replica cabins in memorial to Abe Lincoln's 14 years spent in Spencer County. Explore all of the cabins and let your imagination take hold. Discover what it would have been like to be a classmate with young Abe in the Pioneer Schoolhouse Cabin. Picture looking over in church and seeing Abraham sitting two rows away in the Old Pigeon Baptist Church. You can even experience the same type of home that Abraham would have lived in at the Lincoln Homestead Cabin. Imagine life as it were in the 1800s and learn about the life and times of our future president. Don't forget to visit the artifact-filled museum complete with a hutch made by Abraham's father, Thomas Lincoln. Why spend another day stuck indoors when you and your family could be out enjoying yourselves at the opening day of the season for the Lincoln Pioneer Village & Museum! The village will be open from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm CDT. For more information about the Lincoln Pioneer Village & Museum or about Lincoln's Indiana Boyhood Home, give us a call at (888) 444-9252 or email [email protected]. We hope to see you out and about this weekend.
