CONTEST: Who Wants to Be a Parade Judge?

Do you hum “Jingle Bells” in the middle of July? Do you own more than one “ugly” Christmas sweater? Do you think Christmas cookies should be a food group?

We’re looking for the merriest of the merry to judge the 2023 Santa Claus Christmas Parade. And if you answered “yes” to any of the questions above, you might just have what it takes! 

The Santa Claus Christmas Parade is Coming to Town 

The Santa Claus Christmas Parade comes to town, on Saturday, December 9, 2023, during the second weekend of the town-wide Santa Claus Christmas Celebration. 

The parade will begin in the Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari Legend parking lot and travel up Highway 245 past Santa Claus Brewing Co., Sun Outdoors Lake Rudolph, St. Nicholas Church, and the Santa Claus Fire Department. After a turn on to Patricia Koch Boulevard (PRO TIP: This stretch of the route is a great place to watch the parade!), the parade will loop back to Highway 162 and return to the starting point.

What Does a Santa Claus Christmas Parade Judge Do? 

As one of three judges for the 2023 Santa Claus Christmas Parade, you’ll be responsible for helping name winners for three categories:

• Holiday Spirit – Looks aren’t everything. So, this award will be given to the participants that exhibit the most enthusiasm! 
• Most Christmassy – Whether it's colorful lights or artificial snow or even Santa himself... here's your chance to vote on the most festive float in the parade. 
• Kids’ Favorite – Pretty self-explanatory, right? We’ll need some younger judges to help pick a winner for this category, so feel free to enter as a family! 

What Are Your Christmas Credentials? 

What makes a successful Santa Claus Christmas Parade judge? You must believe in Santa Claus. You must be ready and willing to have a jolly good time. And you must keep the spirit of Christmas in your heart, not just during the holidays, but year-round!

One more thing: You must be able to be in Santa Claus, Indiana, on Saturday, December 9, 2023. Judging begins at 12:00 pm CT; parade starts at 1:00 pm CT.
You can sign up as an individual, but families are also encouraged to enter!
