Super Snacks for Sunday

Posted on January 29, 2015

It's no secret that the staff at the Visitors Bureau enjoys food. In fact, it's safe to say it's one of the perks of the job – knowing where to eat and what to eat in the area. Now with the big football game coming up, sweet and salty snacks come to mind. I know there's a game involved but really, it's about the food, right? We did some research and found a few great ideas for the big feast... I mean game. It's hard to go wrong with pizza and Frosty's Fun Center goes above and beyond to create delicious specialties like their Buffalo Chicken Pizza, my favorite. And then they have these remarkable Bosco sticks filled with creamy cheese and just the right amount of salt and garlic. Just give Frosty's a call to order ahead, then pick up your hot yummies before kickoff. Have you ever tasted Angelo's breadsticks? If you haven't, there's no time like the present! Lots of parmesan cheese makes it hard to stop at one... good thing a full order comes with more than a dozen. The Rustic serves homemade potato chips with homemade ranch and it's an amazing combination. McKenzie's offers some of the best (and cheesiest) cheesy fries you can find. Both of these spots have big screens if you want to get out and watch the Patriots play the Seahawks or any other sporting event. The Chateau is a family favorite. My top choice is the chicken wrap which is unlike most wraps because you need a fork and knife but the special sauce paired with grilled chicken strips, peppers and onions melts in your mouth. There's also the sampler appetizer, with something for everyone: breaded mushrooms, cheese sticks, hot wings, egg rolls... all fried to perfection... and it's tasty. Of course, wings tend to be "go to" snack for big events like this. Hoosier Land Pizza & Wings offers wings, pizza, and all sorts of game-day treats. And guess what? They even deliver!   Enjoy the big feast, uh, I mean big game!
