The Ultimate Christmas Celebration Itinerary Part 1

Christmas Celebration Part 1

Picture this: You and your family arrive in the town of Santa Claus for your highly anticipated holiday getaway. You’re most likely only visiting for the weekend, so you have about 2.5 days to make the most of your trip, right? But there’s so much to do! Where do you start? What do you see first? Well, good news for you…we’re trip-planning experts when it comes to Santa Claus, Indiana.

We’ve broken down the area’s sites, attractions, and events into a manageable, fun-filled 2.5-day itinerary, or as we like to call it…the ultimate itinerary for the first of three weekends during the Santa Claus Christmas Celebration:

  • The kids are probably more than ready to get out of the car for a bit and stretch their legs. Santa’s TOYS is the perfect pit stop for that. The owners welcome visitors to come in, have fun, and even demo many of the toys (unheard of!), including scooters, silly putty, Spooner Boards, and more. During the Christmas Celebration, they’ll also be offering Holiday Arts & Crafts.

  • Next, it’s nap time. But seriously, it’s been quite a long, exciting morning already! If you have little ones, then you know a trip back to the hotel or cabin for some relaxation and recuperation is a must.

  • Don’t forget dinner! Enjoy an affordable, buffet-style Christmas dinner with Santa at Santa’s Lodge. Meal is served at 6:00 pm CT.

  • End the evening with one of our favorite holiday traditions at Santa’s Candy Castle, Chestnuts Roasting by an Open Fire. From 6:00-8:00 pm CT, we encourage visitors to wind down and warm up next to a bonfire with a cup of fresh hot cocoa before heading back to their rooms for the night.
SUNDAY, DECEMBER 4:Das Nikolaus Fest
  • With good food, children’s’ activities, live music, entertainment, and more…Das Nikolausfest makes for the best Sunday Funday.

  • Next, swing back by the Santa Claus Museum & Village to write a letter to Santa. We like to save this for last just in case the little ones discovered a few more things throughout the weekend to add to their list. Plus, Santa is a busy guy, it never hurts to send him a reminder!

If you follow this guide, we’re sure you’ll have a magical weekend you’ll never forget.
