A Destination Wedding to Remember

Posted on February 1, 2021

A big part of planning the perfect wedding is ensuring that every detail is just as unique as the couple getting married. If you’re a lucky couple making plans for your dream day, you should know that this area can provide the uniqueness you’re looking for in a destination wedding!

Set the Scene

Choosing the right venue is at the top of most wedding to-do lists. And this area offers several options for weddings of all sizes.
For those planning a larger wedding, Santa’s Lodge accommodates approximately 300 guests. During warmer months, couples can opt to have their ceremony in the gazebo by the onsite lake, then move the party indoors for a reception in the spacious Celebration Room. There are also plenty of rooms and suites to house the newlyweds, the wedding party, and their guests during their stay.
Corner House Bed & Breakfast offers an event barn and ceremony site that can host up to 250 seated guests in a picturesque setting surrounded by woodlands and rolling hills. But that’s not all! They can also provide lodging, bridal suites, homemade breakfast, and even professional floral arrangements and day-of coordinating services. Matilda's Event Barn is another unique choice for an elegant wedding in a rustic setting. The venue offers a scenic hilltop for outdoor ceremonies. And the barn can comfortably seat 225-250 guests with buffet-style serving. A restored early 1900's farmhouse is located onsite and available for the wedding party to rent. If you’re looking for a smaller, more intimate setting for your wedding, consider the Lincoln Chapel at Lincoln Boyhood National Memorial. It’s a simple, yet elegant location that’s rich with historical significance.

Capture the Moment

A couple wants to fondly remember their wedding day for the rest of their lives. That’s why the pictures are so important! And where better to capture the beauty and joy of a wedding than against the backdrop of this beautiful area.
The 1,747-acre Lincoln State Park is an outdoor photographer’s dream! Adventurous couples can hit one of the hiking trails for a photo session surrounded by natural beauty. Or let one of the two scenic lakes serve as the setting for these most important pictures.
Saint Meinrad Archabbey is a peaceful and spiritual place located on carefully maintained grounds that photograph beautifully. Couples have a choice of settings, from the steps of the historic and impressive Archabbey Church, to the vibrant landscaping located throughout the campus.
Christmas-loving couples will find a lot of festive photo opportunities around the town of Santa Claus. One fun option is to grab the entire wedding party and head to the Santa Claus Museum & Village. There, you can strike a pose in front of the massive restored Santa Statue or completely original 1880 Santa Claus Church.

Before the Wedding

You don’t have to wait for the big day to celebrate. There are plenty of spots around the area to host a bridal or wedding shower.
Monkey Hollow Winery and Distillery and Pepper’s Ridge Winery offer scenic venues to gather friends and family, sip on local spirits, and offer a toast to the special couple. (Monkey Hollow Winery also welcomes weddings of 100 people or less!)
vacation rental is a perfect private place to hold your pre-wedding festivities and also provide lodging for those staying for the ceremony. You’ll find several options throughout the area that can sleep multiple families.

A Destination You’ll LOVE

When wedding bells are ringing and love is in the air, you’ll find the perfect place to celebrate in Santa Claus, Indiana, and at sites throughout Lincoln’s Indiana Boyhood Home!
