Fall in love with October

Posted on October 6, 2010

The leaves are changing colors, the temperatures are dropping, and the pumpkins are ready for carving. This can only mean one thing… it must be fall! Spend this beautiful fall season outdoors with your family in Spencer County, Indiana. There are plenty of fun-filled activities to do every weekend! If you're in the mood for some delicious apple cider to warm up this weekend be sure to visit the 30th annual Mt. Zion Apple Fest at the AEP Honey Creek Farm near Rockport. This fall celebration includes arts and crafts, live entertainment, and of course all those delicious fall apple flavors! New this year, families can watch a classic Halloween movie at Lincoln Amphitheatre in Lincoln State Park each weekend in October. The amphitheatre will be playing everything from the scary to the family-friendly classics. And if you really want to get into the Halloween spirit, walk the spooky Haunted Trail at the State Park during October. Full of ghosts and goblins of all sorts, the Haunted Trail benefits the Friends of Lincoln State Park. Be sure to enjoy all of the beautiful fall foliage that Spencer County has to offer. Whether you are at the Apple Fest or just walking the trails at Lincoln State Park, it's a beautiful time of the year! And remember that Christmas and the winter season is right around the corner... so enjoy the fall weather and the gorgeous scenery while it lasts!
