It's Fall, Y'all!

Posted on September 22, 2021

It’s official… fall is here!
Things around here are still pretty green. And most days aren’t what we’d call “sweater weather” just yet. But we know that a rainbow of fall colors and crisp, cool days are just around the corner.
In the meantime, we’re looking forward to fall days with a look back at some of our favorite seasonal photos!

Some of Our Favorite Fall Photos

You’ll find Instagram-worthy sites and sights all throughout the year. But during the fall season, everything gets just a little more colorful… and just a little more photogenic!

Lakeview Orchards Multiple pumpkin stacks in shades of orange, green, and white are set side by side

During the warmer months, Lakeview Orchards is famous for their peaches, along with other fresh produce. But when fall hits, it’s all about the pumpkins! Stacks and stacks of them, in an array of seasonal colors that rival even the prettiest autumn foliage.

Lincoln State Park Four young girls lie in fall leaves on ground with their heads pointed toward one another

Sure, we could have picked from one of many scenic fall photos from Lincoln State Park. The trees surrounding Lake Lincoln take on the brightest colored leaves, making for a beautiful place to hike in the fall. But some visitors seem partial to the leaves on the ground… just look at those smiles!

Living Historical Farm at Lincoln Boyhood National Memorial Side view of the cabin at the Living Historical Farm shows the fireplace with colorful fall trees in the background

The cabin at the Living Historical Farm inside Lincoln Boyhood National Memorial is probably one of the most photographed sites in the area throughout the year. It’s beautiful with a dusting of snow in the winter, accented by bright redbuds in the spring, and surrounded by full, lush greenery during summer. But our favorite has to be the explosion of fall color that serves as a stunning backdrop!

Pumpkins & More Farm Market Multiple colorful potted mums are displayed on a gravel-covered ground with stone wall in the foreground and a pumpkin setting on the wall

Of course you’ll find pumpkins of all shapes and sizes at Pumpkins & More Farm Market… it’s right there in the name, after all. But for us, a true sign that fall is underway is seeing the rainbow of colorful mums that takes up residence outside the farm market’s store during the season!

Saint Meinrad Archabbey Two men, one in a short-sleeved colored shirt and jeans and one in a monk's robes, sit turned toward one another on a bench under a canopy of colorful fall leaves with a building at Saint Meinrad Archabbey visible in the background

The stunning architecture and peaceful atmosphere make Saint Meinrad Archabbey a special place to visit year ’round. But when the trees start to turn their vibrant fall colors, the grounds practically invite you to take a relaxing solo stroll or to find a bench and spend a quiet moment in conversation with a friend.

Welcome to Santa Claus Sign Welcome to Santa Claus, Indiana, sign features a blue sign with Santa statue on the left and tree statue to the right, all displayed atop a stone wall; with fall-colored trees in the background

Whether you visit over the summer for Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari fun, in December for the town-wide Christmas festivities, or during the fall for local festivals, leaf peeping, and outdoor activities, the town of Santa Claus is always ready to welcome you. And hey, Santa looks pretty good in fall colors… who knew?!
