Why We’re Celebrating

Abraham Lincoln’s birthday is on February 12, but around here, we don’t just celebrate the man one day of the year. Why? Because Abe is a very important part of this area’s history! The Lincoln family moved to this area of Indiana in 1816 and lived here for 14 years. These years proved to be quite formative for young Abraham. During his time here, he lost his mother, developed a love of reading and learning, discovered his entrepreneurial spirit, and tried (and won) his first court case. All between the ages of seven and 21!

What You’ll Win

If you’re planning a summer visit, this prize pack will help you have free family fun at some of the area’s most popular sites! One lucky winner will be randomly selected to receive: Gate admission to Lincoln State Park – Enter the park for free and enjoy a day of hiking, biking, swimming, and more. Enter anytime between Sunday, February 12, 2023, at 9:00 am CT and Monday, February 20, 2023, at 9:00 am CT. On February 20, 2023, a winner will be randomly selected and notified via email. The winner will have seven days to confirm contact details and accept the prize.
