Still Time for Christmas Fun

Posted on December 16, 2020

We’re heading into the final weekend of the 2020 Santa Claus Christmas Celebration. And while it may be the last weekendthere’s still tons of holiday fun to be had!
Here’s your guide to finding favorite events, festive shopping, and the best eats all weekend long.

Where to Find Festive Family Fun

Friday, December 18

Download a convenient map before you roll into town so you can find your way to all of the fun. Once you arrive, make the Santa Claus Post Office your first stop. You can hand cancel your mail with this year’s special holiday postmark—plus see a display of postmarks from years past.
Drive over to Saint Meinrad Archabbey and take a walk around the beautiful grounds... but bundle up first! Then stop in the Saint Meinrad Archabbey Gift Shop to find a lovely keepsake to take home. (check out the Travel Deals page for a coupon).
Swing by Monkey Hollow Winery and Distillery (coupon availableor Pepper’s Ridge Winery to sample their selections and pick up last-minute gifts. Then check out local dining options to find a great place to grab dinner.
End the night with a double-feature of holiday lights. Drive through the Santa Claus Land of Lights to see the story of Rudolph. And later head to the Christmas in Dale Light Show to celebrate the sights and sounds of the season.

Saturday, December 19

Today’s the day to shop! First, check out our Travel Deals page for super savings.
Then… get an early start since most stores are open by 9:00 am CT. Grab a personalized ornament from the Santa Claus Christmas Store. Treat yourself to a new outfit for the holidays at Evergreen Boutique & Christmas Shop. Discover unique handcrafted items and food gifts at Pumpkins & More Farm Market. And find last-minute gifts for the kids at Santa’s TOYS and Santa’s Candy Castle.
While you’re at Santa’s TOYS, make time for a visit with Santa himself. He’ll be greeting kids from a safe distance… bring your phone or camera to get a great picture!
When you’re ready for a food break, check out the food trucks that will be parked throughout Kringle Place Shopping Center. Bite into the ooey-gooey goodness of sandwiches by The Cheese Queen and savor saucy favorites from S&S BBQ. Then enjoy a salty-sweet treat from 2 Guys and Kettle and crepes with all the best fillings from A Tasty Bite of Europe.
Have a reserved ticket for Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire? Head to Santa’s Candy Castle for this unique annual event.
End the night with a leisurely drive through the Festival of Lights at Christmas Lake Village… admission is free, but donations to CASA are accepted.

Sunday, December 20

Did you leave an item off your list when you visited with Santa yesterday? Don’t worry… you can write a letter to Santa in the town’s original post office located on the grounds of the Santa Claus Museum & Village!
It’s the perfect end to your holiday visit!
