Town of Santa Claus to be Featured on Hallmark Channel

Posted on December 17, 2018

UPDATE (12/17/18): Hallmark Channel announced via Twitter that its “Christmas Across America” premiere is unfortunately postponed at this time. Hallmark Channel remarks, “We look forward to sharing it with you at another time. We will keep you updated.”    Hallmark Channel’s “Christmas Across America” will include the famous Christmassy town of Santa Claus, Indiana. The show was scheduled to air on on Monday, December 17, 2018, at 6:00 p.m. Central Time but has been postponed. Host Candace Cameron Bure will guide viewers in a special segment showcasing Christmassy places in America. Audiences will likely remember Bure from her role as D.J. Tanner on “Full House.” Viewers will learn about the history of how letters to Santa are answered each year by a volunteer organization in Santa Claus, Indiana. The tradition of helping Santa answer letters started in 1914. “We are thrilled for the town to be included in the Hallmark Channel’s ‘Christmas Across America’ with Candace Cameron Bure,” says Melissa Arnold, executive director of the Spencer County Visitors Bureau. “This small-but-famous town is certainly extra special during the holiday season and we’re excited to share it with families from near and far.”
