What to Do In February

Posted on February 2, 2015

There are plenty of winter activities to pursue in order to make your February fantastic.

Right now, Saint Meinrad Archabbey is hosting, “Adventures in Abstract Art,” a gallery showcasing pieces from both a fabric artist and a sculptor. A lecture on Black History Month and a choral concert are also planned.

Stop by the Holly Tree Christmas Shop to pick up something special for your Valentine. Stunning flower arrangements, chic jewelry, and an assortment of unique finds fill the store. Check out our Valentine’s Day guide for more ideas.

This month mark’s Abe Lincoln’s birthday and there’s no shortage of ways to celebrate.

Lincoln Boyhood National Memorial will host “Lincoln Day” featuring music, a pilgrimage, and a talk from author John Barr. Watch a lye soap demonstration at the Living Historical Farm during Saturdays in February.

Tip: Lincoln Boyhood National Memorial will offer free admission during President’s Day Weekend, making it a perfect time to take advantage of all the park’s offerings.

Consider having a long lunch with a friend at a local establishment. A salad bar full of fresh ingredients paired with a savory grilled chicken sandwich is a favorite choice at St. Nick’s Restaurant.

Feel the need to get outdoors? Walk along the Ohio River Scenic Byway or hit the trails at Lincoln State Park for picturesque views.
