Peanut Butter Lovers Month

Posted on November 3, 2014

You may have noticed a reoccurring theme with the Bearded Blog: food. Our staff has no problem providing our “expertise” on all of the yummy food finds in our area. So it should come as no surprise that we tackle National Peanut Butter Lover’s Month. What are our favorite peanut-butter infused foods? Melissa: Peanut butter fudge can turn the darkest days into sunshine or add a ray to make the sunniest days even brighter. Luckily, I live in a town that makes it easy to find fudge all year long. The Santa Claus Christmas Store is a great spot to grab a piece of fudge and do a little Christmas shopping... even if it's not the holiday season! Julie: My husband and I occasionally get up early on Saturday and head to White Squirrel Donuts, in Rockport, to indulge a great selection of donuts, including a scrumptious peanut butter filled one they affectionately named "Cletus." It's filled with sweet peanut butter cream and topped with chocolate fudge icing. A classic peanut butter & chocolate delight that's breakfast approved. We add two coffees to go, and then sit by the river to watch the barges go by. Amanda: For the perfectly-crafted PB&J sandwich, St. Nick’s Restaurant is my pick. The Texas-toast style bread is smothered with creamy peanut butter and delicious grape jelly. It’s listed under the kids menu...but they obviously will make exceptions for those of us craving this classic….no matter what your age!
